I’ve always considered Pitlochry to be a bit of a strange place. The profusion of tourist tat shops and distilleries has always made me consider it to be a sort of plastic Scottish town which panders entirely towards grockles and alcoholics. Indeed, if you look at a satellite image of the area there is what appears to be a ribbon of tartan which flanks the high street from the BP garage in the south to almost as far as Killiecrankie in the north.
Anyway we were there today to get a bit of fresh air and I came across this trail. It runs up the side of the Black Spout waterfall and will have to be investigated further on two wheels very soon.
