A mini bivi adventure
August 3, 2008 | Leave a Comment
Well summer is nearly half way done (officially anyway) and it was time to put my newly bought bivi gear to work. So with my spanking new Hunka Bivi bag, Pocket Rocket stove, Titanium mug, and a load of other gear I’ve had gathering dust for years, I set off last night for Loch Ordie.
The midges were dealt with by Avon Skin-so-soft, and a good nights sleep was had. Bloody briliant - I can’t wait for the next half decent evening to do it again.

Dazzled by the moon

There was a full moon tonight. The night air was cool and the sky was clear and I went for a ride. Not a long ride or a technical ride or a fast ride, just a gentle ride along the local lanes on my single speed. I rode just over 10km and met the grand total of 1 car. I’m looking forward to taking this night riding thing to the next level. Dunkeld downhill course anyone?

Night Rider
September 13, 2007 | Leave a Comment
I’ve been laid low with man flu for the past couple of days and so I’ve not been able to get out for a ride of any sort. However, before I was well and truly struck down, I did get out for a short night ride to try out my new light. Its a rechargable LED NiteRider MiNewt which I bought at the back end of last year but never actually used.
It was just a short ride, up the back lane and over a couple of farm tracks. But it was a clear night and it was bluddy amazing. Everything was quiet and the stars were bright. I can’t wait to get out again after dark!
