The city of Lucca is awash with bikes. Folk use them to go to work and college, take the kids to school and generally make their Tuscan lives more pleasant. The bikes are mainly utilitarian shopper-type models with multiple child seats and baskets. There is nothing quite as relaxing as hiring one of these ’sit up and begs’ and taking it for a spin around the city walls.

That’s right, we are off to Italia for a wee while. Sight seeing, gelatto, pizza, vino and probably a spot of gentle cycling.
